Edeh Chidi scored a brace as Mohun Bagan scored a comfortable 3-1 win over Salgaocar Sports Club to register their third win in the I-League at Nehru Stadium in Margao on Saturday.
The winners, who led 3-0 at half time in the ninth-round match, scored through Ishfaq Ahmed (8th) and man of the match Chidi (12th, 18th).
Salgaocar, who came strongly in the second half but failed to convert the chances that came their way, reduced the margin in the 88th minute through a penalty from Ryuji Sueoka.

Bagan, with three wins, now have 11 points from nine matches. Salgaocar, who suffered their third defeat, remained on 18 points from as many matches.

JCT FC blanked Air India, Mumbai 2-0 in the ninth round in the ongoing I-league at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Saturday.
After wasting a few scoring chances, JCT earned lead in the second half (61st minute) O Nurain Kareem found the target after intercepting the ball from midfielder Randeep Singh.
The home team enhanced the lead, three minutes later off a rebound taken by Ibrahim (2-0).
JCT have now secured 11 points from nine matches to improve their position at point table (8th position) whereas the visitors are still struggling and are placed at the bottom with five points from as many matches.
