Dempo brushed aside Mumbai Football Club challenge to score a deserving 3-2 win to maintain their top position in the 14th round of the I-League, played at Nehru stadium in Margao on Thursday.
Dempo's Anwar Ali cancelled Abhishek Yadav 7th minute strike in the 25th minute. Ranty Martins then scored a brace in the second half to put Dempo ahead 3-1 before Abhishek Yadav reduced the margin in the injury time.
Dempo continued to maintain the top position with 29 points from 14 matches, four points clear from Mahindra United who are second. While Mumbai FC remained on 8th position with 18 points from 14 matches.
