Pune FC beat defending champions Bengaluru FC 3-1 in a second round encounter of the Hero I-League Football Tournament at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Pune FC dominated from start to finish, creating fine build-ups and scripting good moves to score at crucial points off the match.
With this convincing win, Pune has climbed up to the second position in the league table with four points from two games while Bengaluru is placed seventh with one draw and a loss. They drew with Dempo Football Club in their previous encounter.
The opening goal came through Darko Nikac, who caught the opposition defence napping as early as ninth minute.
Luciano Sabrosa scored the second goal in the 25th minute when he converted a header via indirect free-kick.
In 82nd minute, Raju Yumnam latched onto an assist and finished it off in style.
