Women's Marathon:

O P Jaisha finished 89th in a 150-plus field. Her timing for the 42.1-km race was 2hrs, 47 minutes, 19 seconds.

Kavita Raut placed 120th, clocking 2:59:29 seconds.

Women's singles Group stage: Saina Nehwal lost to Maria Ulitina of Ukraine 18-21, 19-21 and bowed out of the Games.

Men's singles Group stage: Kidambi Srikanth defeated Henri Hurskainen of Sweden 21-6, 21-18 and entered the pre-quarter-finals.

Women's singles Group stage: P V Sindhu defeated Li Michelle of Canada 19-21, 21-15, 21-17 and entered the pre-quarter-finals.
