The Indian Women's team drew 2-2 with New Zealand in the second Test to maintain its 1-0 lead in the five-Test hockey series at the Endeavour Trust Twin Turfs in Palmerston North, New Zealand on Sunday.
For India, Rani Rampal scored a field goal in the 34th minute and Subhadra Pradhan struck with a penalty corner in the 69th minute. Piki Hanahoma (14th) struck through a penalty corner and Charlotte Harrison (67th) scored through a field goal for New Zealand.
Hanahoma drew first blood to put New Zealand ahead in the 14th minute but Rampaul struck at the stroke of half time to draw parity with a 34th minute goal as the two teams went into the breather locked 1-1.
In the second half, Harrison scored a brilliant field goal to give New Zealand on a 2-1 lead and two minutes later Pradhan scored a valuable goal through a penalty corner to save India the blushes.
The third Test will be played at Kett Capital Hockey Stadium, Napier on Wednesday.
