Navy marksman Harpreet Singh pipped army's Vijay Kumar 28-27 to bag gold medal in the men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event at the 55th National Shooting Championships at the Balewadi Ranges, in Pune, on Thursday.
Qualifying with the lowest score among the six finalists, Harpreet shot a series of 4, 5, 2, 4, 3, 3, 3 and 4 to clinch the title with his tally one point better than that of Vijay, who secured the silver with final series scores of 2, 5, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5 and 3.
Another army shooter, Gurpreet Singh clinched the bronze with a tally of 23 points.
