Romanian professional Simona Halep has moved back to the top five in the latest women's tennis world rankings issued by the WTA, after clinching her first title in over a year at the Madrid Masters.
The 24-year-old swept aside Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 6-4 to claim the Madrid Master title.
Australian Open winner Angelique Kerber has also reclaimed her second rank from Agnieszka Radwanska despite an opening-round defeat in Spain.
Meanwhile, American tennis ace Serena Williams continues to remain at the top of the rankings, maintaining a substantial lead of 2495 points.
