India's top ranked player Saurav Ghosal crashed out of the $147,500 Sky Open Squash Championships in Cairo after he was humbled in the first round by Laurens Jan Anjema of Netherlands.
World number 32 Ghosal lost 6-11, 11-5, 3-11, 4-11 to 11th seeded Anjema in 54 minutes in the opening round of the PSA World Tour squash event - the first Super Series Platinum championship of the year - at Sky Petrosport Club on Thursday.
Ghosal had beaten Julien Balbo of France 11-3, 11-0, 6-11, 11-9 in the qualifiers to make it to the main round.
Meanwhile, in the Forexx Women's World Open Squash 2009 in Amsterdam, World number 35 Indian Joshna Chinappa lost in straight sets to Egyptian Raneem El Weleily in their first round encounter.
Joshna lost 5-11, 4-11, 6-11 to 16th seeded Weleily in just 16 minutes in the USD 118,000 WISPA World Tour event at the Frans Otten Stadion.
Joshna had beaten Egypt's Nour El Sherbini 8-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8 in the final round of qualifying event to enter the main event. Another Indian Dipika Pallikal had failed to get past the qualifying round.
