Golfer Greg Norman engaged to longtime friend

Australian golfer Greg Norman is reportedly engaged to Kirsten Kutner, a longtime friend and mother of two, roughly a year after his split with former tennis champion Chris Evert.

Norman, 55, presented Kutner, 41, with a six-carat diamond ring and proposed when they were standing in the kitchen chatting about their day, Australian New Idea magazine reported.

"One minute we were having a day-to-day conversation and the next moment, all of a sudden, everything changed -- our lives changed. It was perfect," Norman told the magazine.

Kutner, an interior designer, called Norman "the big love of my life" and said she was "definitely the luckiest woman on this earth".

The magazine in April reported that the two were in a relationship, saying that they had been friends in the past but met once again last year in Cairo, according to Australian Associated Press (AAP).

Norman and Evert split in September 2009 after 18 months of marriage. Reports in January said the decision had been made official with a secret divorce filed in a Florida courthouse.

Norman filed for divorce from first wife Laura Andrassy, a former flight attendant, in 2006. A court battle lasted nearly two years before the two reached an agreement that saw Andrassy receive $103 million.
