Mario Goetze scored twice as world champions Germany outclassed rivals Poland 3-1 to take over the top spot in European Championship qualifying Group D at Allianz Arena on Friday.
Thomas Muller put the hosts ahead in the 12 minute before Goetze doubled the lead with a fine sole effort seven minutes later, the Guardian reported.
Although captain Robert Lewandowski pulled one back for Poland with a diving header, Goetze eventually sealed Germany's win eight minutes before the final whistle.
With the win, Germany lead the Group D having 16 points from seven games, and are two points ahead of Poland.
