India's number one Saurav Ghosal went down fighting to England's Adrian Grant in straight sets in a pre-quarterfinal match of the $52,500 five-star PSA US Open Squash Championship 2009 in Chicago on Friday.
In the match that lasted just 46 minutes, Ghosal lost 8-11, 9-11, 10-12 to his British opponent.
Grant, ranked 11th in the world, will face three-time world champion and world number three Egypt's Amr Shabana, the in the quarterfinals.
Ghosal was the lone Indian in the fray in the top-flight competition.
