Indian Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi rallied from a set down to advance to the semi-finals of the Gerry Weber Open with a 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-4 victory over Dustin Brown of Germany and France's Gael Monfils at Halle, Germany, on Wednesday.
The 'Indo-Pak Express', top seeds in the Euro 7,50,000 grasscourt tournament, was taken by surprise by their unseeded opponents, who broke Bopanna and Qureshi once to run away with the first set.
However, Bopanna and Qureshi got their act together and bounced back in the second set before wrapping the match in the deciding third set.
In the semi-finals, Bopanna and Qureshi will take on the winners of the match between the German combo of Christopher Kas-Philipp Kohlschreiber and Finland's Jarkko Nieminen-Viktor Troicki of Serbia.
