He was supposed to know his fate with Force India by now but Adrian Sutil is still clueless as to whether he would be competing for it next season and the German driver has no idea why it is taking so long for the outfit to decide.

Sutil was to know whether he would be part of the team ahead of this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but will have to wait longer to get the final word on his future.

"There is no progress on my side. I am still not sure. There is no reason as to why the decision of the team and Vijay Mallya has been delayed. May be it will come in December. I do not know. But a decision should be made soon and most probably before the Brazil Grand Prix. And it is ok for me even if time is ticking away," Sutil said.

Sutil said he has no choice but to keep waiting at least for the time being.

"I cannot say much at this point as I have no news. So waiting is the only possibility and with a new owner in the team it is taking a bit longer. I am not doing a bad job, so I am not nervous. I can't change the situation but I feel good. I do not know why it is taking so long," he said.

"I have a very good relationship with Dr Vijay Mallya. I have been speaking with him a lot and on a regular basis. Vijay Mallya is very loyal to me and I am very loyal. He told me some information. But I cannot share it with you at the moment. That is important.

"He wanted to announce the drivers for 2012 as early as possible. Everything is getting late. But we know for all sides that it would be better to announce it as soon as possible," he added.

But Sutil hinted that he would be happy to stay with the team, saying that he has felt at home in the outfit.

"After so many Grand Prix with the Force India team and 88 Formula 1 Grand Prix in my career and doing such a good job after so many years. I have also finished in P7 at Monaco, P6 at the German Grand Prix, P7 in Spain, P8 in Singapore.

"I am relaxed within the team and I like the team. Since the end of 2009 I have had a good car and have had good results. I do my job as best as possible. I want to have a good feeling after the race and enjoy my racing," he said.

Asked if a change of team would help him achieve more on the circuit, Sutil said, "I am open to every possibility. Absolutely. I want to make sure that it would be the right way to go before taking the step. I do not want to change just for changing. It is important to view the long term picture," he said.

On his experience of racing in the Indian Grand Prix, Sutil said competing there helped him understand the country a little better.

"It is a special place. I know a little bit more about India than most other drivers through being in this team. It is a very special place to be and go adventuring in. I did not stay this time after the Grand Prix. I have many times before.

"The track was very nice; high grip. Driving it was very nice. It was very nice to be in India and to score two points and finish ninth. A good result for the team. I am proud of these points for all of us," he said.
