Adrian Sutil's ninth place finish earned Force India a couple of precious points from the eventful Turkish Grand Prix while Hispania driver Karun Chandhok was classified 20th though he could not finish the race.

In a chaotic race where Sebastian Vettel crashed out after a collision that also cost his Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber a probable victory, Sutil's teammate Vitantonio Liuzzi finished 13th.

Vettel's misadventure not only paved way for a McLaren one-two led by Lewis Hamilton but also benefited Sutil.

The two points Sutil earned swelled Force India's tally to 32 points and cemented the Silverstone-based outfit's sixth place in the constructor's championship.

Sutil, however, could have finished better but for the nervous pit crew and Force India chairman Vijay Mallya also conceded it was a slipshod show.

"We did not qualify well but considering we started 11th and 18th, I'm pleased we finished ninth and 13th," Mallya said after the race.

"In fact we messed up both pit-stops. Otherwise, Sutil could easily have finished eighth in front of (Ferrari's) Fernando Alonso," rued team principal Mallya.
