The authentic FIFA World Cup trophy arrived at the football crazy city of Kolkata on Thursday by a chartered flight from Canada.
The six kg weighing World Cup trophy, made of solid gold, would be kept at the Yuba Bharati Krirangtan for display from January 15 to 17.
FIFA, football's world governing body, as part of promoting the sport, is taking the Cup to 86 countries before the World Cup finals commences in June in South Africa.
The Cup would be formally unveiled by Lothar Mathhaus, skipper of the 1990 World Cup winning German team, at a city hotel on Friday.
