Croatia's Luka Modric is 35-years-old, but still capable of creating magic.

Modric’s majestic goal in the 62nd minute helped Croatia beat Scotland 3-1 on Tuesday and give the team a spot in the round of 16 at Euro 2020 by finishing second in Group D.

Modric had a quiet first two group matches, with the midfielder forced into deeper positions and Croatia facing criticism for lacking spark in attack. But the playmaker showed his class and why he won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 — the same year he helped his team reach the World Cup final.

Modric showed his class early on with some nice touches and scored one of the goals of the tournament after the interval.

Luka Modric lurked on the edge of the area, waiting for the ball to come to hin. Striker Bruno Petkovic controlled a low cross into the box and laid the ball back towards his captain who perfectly stroked it into the top corner with the outside of his boot.

Modric produced an outrageous finish with the outside of his right foot that sent the ball spinning into the top corner.

"It is a pleasure to watch him," former Scotland striker Ally McCoist told ITV Sport.
