Manchester United spurned a chance to move into the Premier League's top four after striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a penalty in a 1-1 draw against 10-man Bournemouth on Saturday.

The result left United in sixth position on 49 points while Bournemouth, who had Andrew Surman sent off on the stroke of halftime for charging at Ibrahimovic, stayed 14th with 27 points.

Argentina defender Marcos Rojo fired the home side ahead in the 23rd minute with his first Premier League goal before Joshua King, a Manchester United academy product, levelled against the run of play with a 40th-minute penalty.

Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc shone with a string of excellent saves, denying a below-par Ibrahimovic three times before he parried the Swede's feeble spot-kick after Adam Smith handled Paul Pogba's acrobatic cut-back.

Nathan Redmond struck twice and Manolo Gabbiadini scored a sixth goal in four games as Southampton edged Watford 4-3 in the Premier League at Vicarage Road.

The victory moved Southampton above Watford up to 10th position with 33 points while their hosts slipped to 13th.

Watford made the perfect start when Troy Deeney scored a fifth Premier League goal in six games inside four minutes, but Southampton led at halftime through goals from Dusan Tadic and Redmond.

Italian forward Stefano Okaka equalised for Watford from close-range with 10 minutes remaining, but Manolo Gabbiadini continued his red hot form after home keeper Heurelho Gomes spilled the ball into his path. Redmond got his second before Abdoulaye Doucoure pulled one back for the hosts.

Llorente brace helps Swansea to 3-2 win over Burnley

Fernando Llorente scored twice including a last-minute winner as Swansea City beat Burnley 3-2.

Swansea made a strong start against Burnley, winless away from home this season, when Spain forward Llorente headed home in the 12th minute for his 10th goal of the season.

Andre Gray restored parity eight minutes later when he converted a controversial penalty - awarded despite a handball by Burnley forward Sam Vokes rather than Swansea's defence - before firing home his second after the break.

Swansea struck the woodwork three times before Martin Olsson equalised with a powerful drive and Llorente's late header sealed their fourth win from six league games. In-form Swansea, in 16th, have 27 points from 27 games while Burnley, in 12th, have 31.

Zaha and Townsend earn crucial win for Allardyce's Palace

Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend scored brilliant goals for Crystal Palace as Sam Allardyce's strugglers ruined West Brom counterpart Tony Pulis's 300th match as a Premier League manager with a 2-0 win.

Albion's five-match unbeaten run came to an abrupt conclusion 10 minutes after halftime once Zaha controlled a superb long diagonal ball from Yohan Cabaye on his chest before striking a fine angled finish past Ben Foster.

England international Townsend then got in on the act, going on a mazy run before a deflected shot that secured a second straight League win for Allardyce's men and moved them out of the bottom three.

Palace deserved the victory, having already enjoyed the best chance in the first half when Chris Brunt was forced to nod Christian Benteke's goal-bound header off the line, with Salomon Rondon's appeal for a penalty being Albion's best shout.
