Soccer star David Beckham was at the wheel of a Cadillac that struck another vehicle on a Los Angeles-area freeway, but he was not injured or cited in the collision, police said on Saturday.
Beckham was driving on Friday on the 405 Freeway in Torrance, about 20 miles (32 km) from downtown Los Angeles, when he struck a stalled Mitsubishi, the California Highway Patrol said.
The owner of the Mitsubishi, a 40 year-old Los Angeles man, complained of pain and was taken to a hospital, police said.
The English-born Beckham plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy professional soccer team. His wife, Victoria, is a former member of the Spice Girls group.
