Even as Monaco are ready to make a sensational world record €100m (£85m) bid for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, the Spanish club's president Florentino Perez is reportedly prepared to offer his Portuguese star more than a whopping 125 million pounds in a five-year contract to lure him to stay on at the club and not make a switch to Manchester United or any other club.
Claiming that the deal will be finalized this summer, Real is confident that it will be signed off at 25 million pounds-a-season, making the Portuguese footballer earn nearly 250000 pounds-a-week, The Sun reports.
Perez confirmed that Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid as it is the natural course of action, adding that he wants to and will aim at renewing Ronaldo’s contract before the next season begins.
The report said that Ronaldo has led Real to have a 450-million-pounds turnover.
Ronaldo’s loss will mean financial crisis for the club which is why the club desperately intends to retain the player until his retirement and are ready to splash the cash on him, the report added.
