Indian shuttlers Chetan Anand, Arvind Bhat and Anand Pawar advanced to the second round of the men's singles at Bitburger Open badminton tournament in Germany on Wednesday.
Top seed Chetan hardly broke a sweat before his local opponent Lukas Schmidt retired at 4-2, while fourth seed Arvind beat Germany's Gregory Schneider 21-12, 21-13 in 28 minutes.
Eleventh seed Pawar, however, had to struggle before beating Dane Emil Vind 21-10, 18-21, 21-12 in 44 minutes.
Compatriot Aditya Prakash wasn't lucky and crashed out in the first round after suffering 7-21, 17-21 defeat to seventh seeded Carl Baxter of England in 22 minutes.
