"The former world heavyweight champ, who once took a bite out of Evander Holyfield's lughole, reckons the taste of meat now makes him ill," reported the Daily Express.
"I ate the tiniest piece of meat and I woke up violently sick. I realised meat's become a poison to me now. With this vegan stuff, I get these explosions of energy. So powerful," said 44-year-old Tyson.
Tyson's infamous bite during the 1997 Las Vegas rematch against Holyfield had astonished the world.
Holyfield had knocked out then-world champion Tyson in their first meeting in 1996.
Mills Lane, the referee of the match, had then ignored Tyson's claim Holyfield had head-butted him, so he got revenge by chewing off a one-inch piece of Holyfield's ear.
Holyfield, who is 47 at present, had won the match with Tyson being disqualified.
