A fit-again Rohan Bopanna and partner Frank Moser entered the second round of the ATP Challenger event in Italy with a straight-sets win over the wild card pair of Carlos Berlocq and Nicolas Todero.
The top seeded Indo-German pair scored a 6-3, 6-4 win over the Argentine combination in the first round of the euro 42,500 clay-court event.
They will now face the British pair of Jamie Murray and Jamie Delgado.
Bopanna had suffered a knee injury recently but said he is fit for India's next Davis Cup tie against South Africa, slated for September 18-20.
Meanwhile, Purav Raja and his Australian partner Sadik Kadir advanced to the second round of the Uzbekistan Challenger event.
They demolished local wild card entrants Djakhongir Djajajov and Sergey Shiplov 6-2, 6-0 in the first round of the US $35,000 hardcourt event.
