Fourth seeded Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea had to sweat it out before recording a three-set win over Marcin Matkowski and Nenad Zimonjic and enter the final of the ATP Mercedes Cup, in Stuttgart in Germany on Saturday.
The Indo-Romanian pair won 6-3, 6-7(6), 10-7 over the second seeded Polish-Serbian combination win in the super tie-breaker in a battle that lasted just over one hour.
Bopanna and Mergea will face third seed Brazil's Bruno Soares and Alexander Peya of Austria in the final of the euro 642,070 grasscourt on Sunday.
Soares and Peya got a walkover from Spanish pair of Feliciano Lopez and Rafael Nadal in the second semi-final.
Last month, Bopanna and Mergea won the Madrid Masters title and ended runners-up at the Casablanca event in Morocco in April.
