Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt ramped up his preparation for the Rio Olympics as he recovered from a stumble to win the men's 100 meters at the inaugural Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium in Jamaica.

The six-time Olympic gold medallist finished the race in 9.88 seconds, thus notching the second fastest time in the world this year.

With the win, Bolt has also improved on the 9.98 seconds he posted at the Czech Golden Spike meet in Ostrava last month.

Meanwhile, Nickel Ashmeade and Yohan Blake both finished the race in the second position in 9.94 seconds ahead of Asafa Powell, who clocked 9.98 seconds.

Despite enduring an injury-disrupted season last year, Bolt had claimed all three sprint titles at the World Athletics Championships.

He will now aim to defend his 100m, 200m and 4x100m titles from 2008 and 2012 in the Rio Games starting August 5.
