The Indian doubles pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna entered the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters, beating Treat Huey and Jonathan Marray in straight sets, on Thursday.
The seventh seeds beat the unseeded American-British combo 7-6(9), 6-4 in 66 minutes.
After a close first set, Bhupathi-Bopanna, who had a first round bye, converted just one of two break-points in the second set to take the match.
They next take on the winners of another second round match between Tomas Berdych-Nenad Zimonjic and second seeds Max Miryni-Daniel Nestor.
