Churchill Bros defender Gouramangi Singh has been invited by Melbourne Heart FC, a Melbourne based A-League football club, for a two week trial from June 7-19.
The international defender will be only the second Indian player from the current squad and only the 4th Indian player in Indian football history to ply his trade abroad.
His trial with Melbourne Heart was confirmed by the player's Melbourne-based manager Lyndon Miranda who said, "Its with great pleasure that I would like to confirm to Indian football fans across the globe that Melbourne Heart FC are keen on inviting Gouramangi Singh for the trial."
"If he makes it through the trial, Gouramangi would go on to be the first Indian to ply his trade on Australian soil."
"I am extremely excited about the prospect. I have been involved with Indian soccer for the last six years now at various levels and it leaves me extremely delighted to be able to play a part in this deal. I would like to extend my gratitude to the club Melbourne Heart FC for allowing Gourmangi to showcase his skill to the club," said Lyndon.
Gouramangi was excited after hearing the news and was thankful to God for giving him this great opportunity to showcase his skills abroad.
"I have been working hard for last many years to improve my game and I am happy finally I got a call to show my skills abroad," said an ecstatic Gouramangi who received the best defender award last year in the I-League.
