The Indian men's recurve team comprising Rahul Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar and Mangal Singh Champia ranked second overall in the FITA round qualification of the 16th Asian archery championship at Bali, Indonesia.
Banerjee was the best placed Indian at third overall with a total of 1326 points in individual events, while Talukdar stood fifth (1321) and Champia was 11th (1306) as the recurve team scored 3,953 points on Wednesday.
Young Atanu Das occupied the 24th spot (1274).
The women's compound side, that included the likes of Jhano Hansdah, Namita Yadav and Manjudha Soy, totalled 4,034 points to stand third overall, by far the best show in this championship.
In the women's compound section, Jhano was seventh overall with 1361. Gagandeep surprised with her improved display to finish 11th with 1358 points. Namita with 1337 was 14th and Manjudha was 15th with 1336.
