Ankita Bhambri faltered at the final step, losing to Tamaryn Hendler of Belgium in the final of US $25,000 ITF event in Lagos on Sunday.
After losing the first set, Bhambri staged a strong comeback to level scores but could not continue the momentum in the deciding set to lose 3-6, 6-2, 3-6.
Indian players had a reasonable outing at the event as Ankita and her sister Sanna also made the semi-finals of the doubles event.
Rushmi Chakravarthi and her partner Isha Lakhani had also reached the last four stage in the doubles
