Alonso holds off Vettel for Singapore win
September 26, 2010 20:00 IST
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso held off the charging Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel to win an incident-packed Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday.
Championship leader Mark Webber finished third in the second Red Bull to increase his advantage from five to 11 points in the standings after the Australian had collided with McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and forced the Briton to retire.
With four races remaining, Australia's Webber has 202 points, Spaniard Alonso is on 191 and Hamilton lies a further 10 points adrift in third place.
