It was the meeting of two superstars as World champion PV Sindhu caught up with Tamil movie superstar Kamal Haasan in Chennai on Thursday.
The Olympic silver medallist met the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder at his party office, in Chennai.
The meeting was not political in nature, the actor-politician said.
Haasan said Sindhu, who recently became the first Indian to win the gold medal at the Badminton World championships in August, is a 'celebration of the country's pride'.
Sindhu, who had lunch with the veteran actor, said her ultimate aim is to win the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics next year.
"Of course my ultimate aim is 2020 Olympics. I am working hard for it... Olympic qualifications are going on and I hope I do my best and get gold," she said.
Describing Haasan as a 'superstar', she said he is one of her favourite actors.
