The 34th National Games will be held in Jharkhand from February 15-28 after the organisers were given the green signal by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Sunday.
"The Indian Olympic Association has given its stamp of approval to our request to hold the Games from February 15 to 28," Games Organising Secretary SM Hasmi said.
Originally, the Games was supposed to start from November 30, but the IOC extended it following the state's request as infrastructure worth Rs 1000 crore would only be in place by January 31 next, he said.
State Olympic associations and federations of various disciplines have been asked to finalise and send their list of players and support staff to the Games organising committee at the earliest.
The events will be held in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad with a Games Village coming up in the state capital.
