Fourth-seeded Russian Maria Kirilenko displayed all-round supremacy to crush unheralded Ukrainian Mariya Koryttseva 6-0, 6-2 in a one-sided final to win the US $175,000 WTA Sunfeast Open in Kolkata on Sunday.
Kirilenko needed only a hour and seven minutes to end the dream run of world number 164 Koryttseva, who had not lost a set on her way to the final.
Koryttseva simply had no answer to the smashing forehands and backhands unleashed by the world number 35 player, who raced away with the first set in no time.
Koryttseva seemed intent on making a match of it in the initial stages of the second set as she broke Kirilenko in the first game, but that was only a fleeting moment of glory for the Ukrainian.
Kirilenko broke back in the fourth game to draw level at 2-2 and kept up the momentum to annihilate Koryttseva's serve in the sixth and eighth games to emerge the second Russian to win the title after Anastasia Myskina in 2005.
