McLaren cleared of Monaco GP rules breach

May 30, 2007 19:33 IST

Formula One's governing body cleared McLaren on Wednesday after investigating the Formula One team for the use of illegal 'team orders' at last Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.

"It is clear that McLaren's actions during the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix were entirely legitimate and no further action is necessary," the International Automobile Federation said on its web site (www.fia.com).

Double world champion Fernando Alonso won the raceĀ for the second year in a row, with team mate Lewis Hamilton completing a McLaren one-two.

Brazilian Felipe Massa was third for Ferrari, 69.1 seconds adrift of Alonso.
