Arsenal and Chelsea have both been fined 100,000 pounds and reprimanded after a mass confrontation in the closing minutes of last month's League Cup final in Cardiff, the FA said on Tuesday.
Arsenal became the first team in the history of English football to have two players sent off in a major final when captain Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor were red carded.
Chelsea's John Obi Mikel was also sent off following the stoppage time fracas that marred Chelsea's 2-1 victory.
The clubs were charged with failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from provocative or violent behaviour.
An FA disciplinary commission said that the incident was "serious, unacceptable and damaging to the image of the game", although it said it took into account the guilty pleas and the mitigation put forward by the clubs.
Adebayor was also fined 7,500 pounds and warned about his future conduct after he refused to leave the field of play following his red card.
His team mate Emmanuel Eboue was handed a retrospective punishment of a three-match ban after television pictures showed him striking Chelsea's Wayne Bridge during the melee.
