Federer makes history
February 26, 2007

Roger Federer has been the planet's top tennis player for 161 weeks, which means he now holds the record of being No 1 for the longest time in tennis history.

Jimmy Connors, the player whose record he overtook, was 32 when he achieved the feat. Federer won't be 26 till August.

Here is the Swiss ace at a press conference on Sunday in Dubai, where he will play the ATP tournament this week.

Federer lost last year's Dubai Open final to Rafel Nadal.

The Spaniard will face 2006 Australian Open finalist Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis in the first round this year.
