Bayern Munich 2 AC Milan 2

Two goals by defender Daniel van Buyten, the second in stoppage-time, gave Bayern Munich a 2-2 draw against AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

In the other quarter-final of the night, Liverpool beat PSV Eindhoven 3-0.

Trailing to a first-half goal by Andrea Pirlo, Bayern drew level when Van Buyten hooked the ball in 12 minutes from time.

Milan seemed to have won the game in the 84th minute when playmaker Kaka went down under a challenge by visiting defender Lucio to earn a penalty, which he also converted.

But Belgian Van Buyten's second strike in the third and final minute of stoppage time gave Bayern a precious draw and two away goals ahead of the second leg in Germany next Wednesday.

The winners of the tie will meet either AS Roma or Manchester United in the semi-finals.
