Saurav Ghosal has overtaken Ritwik Bhattacharya to become India's top ranked squash player, rising five places to 40th in the latest charts.

Saurav, who finished 17th in the Virginia Championships in US in February, is tied for the 40th position with Australian Dan Jenson.

The 20-year-old had earlier won a Bronze medal in the Doha Asian games and is the first Indian to qualify for the main draw of the British Open.

Ritwik, meanwhile, slipped five spots to be 46th in the monthly list.

The 24-year-old, struggling with his form for quite some time, remained out of action last month but will return to the court this month.

Ritwik will play in the Irish Open, where he has been seeded seventh, in Dublin from April 17 to 22 before flying off to Switzerland for the Losonne Swiss Classic from April 24 to 29.

The Indian has been seeded third in the event.
