Chelsea fined for player conduct

May 31, 2006 12:23 IST

For the second time in five weeks, Chelsea have been fined 10,000 pounds for failing to control their players.

Wednesday's fine related to Chelsea's London derby defeat at Fulham on March 19, the Football Association said on its website following a disciplinary hearing.

Chelsea, who lost the match 1-0, had four players cautioned and one, French defender William Gallas, sent off in the final minute.

The defeat was Chelsea's last in the Premier League before they sealed their second successive title on April 29.

Last month Chelsea were fined and warned about their future behaviour after players tried to put pressure on the referee during a league match against West Bromwich Albion in early March.
