Mohun Bagan will have a lethal Jose Barreto-Baichung Bhutia combine upfront in the coming season, with the Indian football team captain announcing that he has finalised a deal with the green and maroon brigade.
In a television interview from Guwahati, Bhutia confirmed that he accepted Mohun Bagan's offer and said he is looking forward to the challenge.
Bhutia, who was voted player of the just-concluded tenth National Football League after a stellar performance for East Bengal, had been negotiating with Bagan for quite some time.
Having already roped in Brazilian Barreto from NFL winners Mahindra United, Bhutia's inclusion will bolster Bagan after a lackluster performance in the last few seasons.
Saying Bagan is a balanced side, Bhutia, however, said the team will have to work hard to triumph in major tournaments.
