Defending champions Dempo and JCT Phagwara played out a goalless draw in the seventh round of the 10th National Football League in Ludhiana on Tuesday.
Dempo, who were without seven of their regular players, sidelined because of injuries, played for a draw and did not make any serious attempt to score.
On the other hand, JCT wasted three good opportunities to score.
In the first half, Parveen had only Dempo custodian Abhijit Mondal to beat but made a mess of the chance.
Johnson and Baldev also failed to capitalize on good chances that came their way.
JCT's Julius Akpele was declared man-of-the-match.
Dempo have seven points and JCT Phagwara have six in the league.
