East Bengal maintain winning run

Fancied East Bengal defeated United Sporting Club 1-0 to register their third consecutive victory in the Kolkata Premier Division Football League, on Friday.

Vincent Pires scored the lone goal of the match in the 65th minute, heading the ball home from a corner.

The red and gold brigade dominated right through.

East Bengal midfielder Dipankar Roy was adjudged man of the match.

United Sporting pressed for the equaliser, but despite getting several chances failed to score.

East Bengal now have nine points from three matches, while United have four points from four.
