Sania Mirza and her South African partner Liezel Huber moved into the second round of the US $1.3 million Acura Classic after a facile victory over the Canadian-Slovak pair of Maurin Drake and Tina Krizan, in San Diego, California, on Monday.
Sania and Huber, who won the Bangalore Open earlier this year, defeated their unseeded opponents 6-0, 6-4.
The Indo-South African duo next plays Russia's Anna Chakvetadze and Jill Craybas of the United States.
Sania, partnering American Barbara Mattek, had entered the semi-finals at Stanford last week, and also made it all the way to the title round at Mason, Ohio, with Poland's Marta Domashowska.
The Indian ace is scheduled to play Meghann Shaughnessy in a first round singles match later on Tuesday.
