Indian ace Sania Mirza, who reached the third round of the women's singles on Wednesday, suffered an early exit in the US Open women's doubles at the Flushing Meadows, New York on Thursday.
Sania and Bryanne Stewart of Australia lost 6-2, 6-4 to Emilie Loit (France) and Nicole Pratt (Australia) in the first round.
The 18-year-old will play her third round against Marion Bartoli of France.
