India's Harsh Mankad will take on Kamil Capkovic of Slovakia in the final of the USD 15,000 ITF Futures Tennis tournament in Chennai on Friday.
Mankad, who had won a Satellite Masters in England last month, progressed after third seed Jamie Delgado of England retired due to dehydration, with Mankad leading 7-5, 2-0 in the first semi-final.
Capkovic prevented an all-Indian final after he knocked out Karan Rastogi 6-4, 6-2 in the other semi-final.
Rohan Bopanna and Vijay Kannan clinched the doubles title, getting the better of Ivan Cerovic of Croatia and Konstantin Grubber of Austria 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5), in a marathon three-hour encounter.
The Indian duo broke Grubber's seventh game and then held serve to take the first set. But the visitors' regrouped in the second and drew level with a break in the sixth game.
In the third set tie-breaker, Kannan played superbly at the net as the Indians took a 5-4 lead. They then broke Grubber's service to make 6-5, after which Kannan served out to win the match 7-5.
