Manan Chandra produced an impressive display in his last league match to qualify for the knock-out stage in the 21st Asian Snooker Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

The talented Indian cueist, seeded 12th, thrashed Nay Thawe Oo of Myanmar 4-0 to become the second qualifier from Group E.

Chandra lost only one of his five matches, against group leader Kobkit Palajin of Thailand, en route to the pre-quarter-final round.

Palajin, who had reached the final of Asian Under-21 snooker tournament in April at the same venue, was the other qualifier from the group.

The 24-year-old Indian completely dominated his opponent during the best-of-seven frame match as he pocketed all the frames with huge margins scoring 75-4, 62-7, 65-8 73-17.

Chandra also registered a break of 57 in the fourth and last frame.

He will now face Chan Kwok Ming of China Hong Kong in the pre-quarters.

Among the other Indians competing in the event, former world champion and last year's finalist Pankaj Advani already made it to the last 16 stage from Group B while defending champion Alok Kumar's challenge ended prematurely after a below-par performance.

The second seeded Advani will meet third seed and former world champion Saleh Mohammad of Pakistan on Friday.
