Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi of Belarus reached the pre-quarterfinals without any effort as they got a walkover in the second round of the men's doubles event of the US Open Grand Slam Tennis championships in New York on Saturday.

The fourth seeds were slated to play Rainer Schuettler of Germany and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia, who did not turn up for the match.

Bhupathi-Mirnyi will next meet Spanish duo of Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo in the third round.
