The Serena Williams fashion show will take centre stage at the U.S. Open on Friday as the former champion takes on French teenager Tatiana Golovin for a place in the fourth round.

Williams, who followed her first-round denim outfit and knee high boots with a studded black two-piece in round two, has promised another raunchy outfit.

However, the six-times Grand Slam champion will have to be on top of her game against Golovin, who has reached the fourth round at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year.

Defending men's champion Andy Roddick will face stiff competition against another teenager, Spaniard Rafael Nadal, in a second-round encounter on the Arthur Ashe Court.

Former number one and 2001 winner Lleyton Hewitt also faces a tricky outing against Hicham Arazi of Morocco.

Second seed Amelie Mauresmo kicks off the day's proceedings against Maria Vento-Kabchi of Venezuela, while eighth seed Jennifer Capriati takes on Russian Vera Douchevina.

Last year's losing finalist Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Nalbandian and Elena Dementieva will also be in action.
