American sprinter Kelli White has officially been stripped of her World Championship gold medals, the governing body for athletics said on Friday, after she was suspended for two years last month for taking drugs.
The International Association of Athletics Federations has annulled all of White's performances since December 15 2000, including her victories in the 100 and 200 metre finals at the Paris World Championships in 2003.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) said last month that White had accepted the minimum ban for her first offence involving the use of prohibited substances, including undetectable steroids and the blood-boosting erythropoietin (EPO).
The 27-year-old had never tested positive for banned substances but admitted taking the performance-enhancing drugs.
