June 03, 2004 18:57 IST

India's junior pair of Tushar Liberhan and Divij Sharan marched into the semi-finals of the boys' doubles, beating Phillip Simmonds of the United States and Fritz Wolmarans of South Africa at the French Open Tennis Championship at Roland Garros in Paris on Thursday.

The unseeded Indian pair registered a comfortable 6-4, 6-2 victory.

In the last four, they will face the winner of the Alex Kuznetsov-Mihail Zverev vs Gael Monfils-Josselin Ouanna match.

Liberhan and Sharan had been in good form coming in to this match, after a straight sets routing of second seed Korean pair of Woong-Sun Jun and Sun-Yong Jr. Kim in the previous round.

Liberhan had lost in the third round of the boys' singles, going down to Mihail Zverev of Germany.

Sharan, meanwhile, failed to get past the first round in the singles. He was beaten by Miles Kasiri of Great Britian.
