Six Arsenal players and two from champions Manchester United have been charged with improper conduct after a fracas in Sunday's bad-tempered 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, the Football Association (FA) has said.

Arsenal, as a club, have been charged with misconduct, while the individual charges apply to Ashley Cole, Lauren, Jens Lehmann, Ray Parlour, skipper Patrick Vieira and Martin Keown. Lauren also faces two charges of violent behaviour and Keown and Parlour face one count of violent behaviour each.

United's Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo have also been charged with improper conduct, while team mate Phil Neville has been warned as to his future conduct.

The trouble erupted towards the end of Sunday's premier league match which finished 0-0.
